A NUMBER of nursery schools in Reading have been rated as the best in the borough.

The top five nurseries feature on a reviews site daynurseries.co.uk based on the nursery’s reviews from the children’s families and carers.

The nurseries which came on top include Little Tots Nursery in Prince of Wales Avenue, Little Dragons Nursery in Bath Road, Jubilee Gems on School Road, Tigers at Theale Day Nursery in Theale, Green Park Day Nursery in Lime Square.

The nurseries were rated with the highest score of 9.9 based on how likely parents are to recommend the nurseries.

Other factors in the rating include on overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding as well as value for money.

One reviewer for Little Tots Nursery said: "My son attended the nursery for 2 and a half years. In this time he has flourished, became very independent and learned a lot. The staff are very caring, communication is excellent and the resources and learning activities are very valuable and Montessori aligned."

A review left for Little Dragons Nursery said: "I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without the amazing team at Little Dragons. Just knowing my son is happy and safe is one of the most important things when trying to manage a full-time job and being a single parent."

Awards were also handed out to nurseries up and down the country, with a creche in Ascot scoring the highest points in Berkshire.

Village End, Creche, Nursery, Pre School & Mini Camp on London Road, Ascot, Bracknell Forest was rated as the best in the south east.
